Don't confuse Privacy for Anonymity
"This tutorial guides you through setting up anonymous chats using SimpleX and Tor to enhance your privacy." >> "This tutorial guides you through setting up anonymous chats using SimpleX, we'll use Tor to remain anonymous when doing so."
"Using anonymous chats, you can protect your privacy, " >> "Using anonymous chats, you can communicate without revealing who you are. "
"Imagine needing to share sensitive information with someone. Would you feel comfortable doing so if you knew someone could be tracking your conversations?" >> "Would you feel comfortable doing so while revealing who you were to that someone?"
"and Tor, ensuring your privacy remains intact." >> "and Tor to ensure your anonymity on the IP layer remains intact."
"What tools will be used" >> OPSEC Recommendations
mention:
-> grapheneOS
-> Anonymous Graphene OS Prodile
-> Orbot (not VPN mode, just power user mode)
-> SimpleX
Orbot setup: >> mention how to enable power user mode, we're not looking for full device VPN here.
SimpleX setup: >> mention how to set it up on a regular debian OS (apt install tor, and install the simplex Appimage (rest of the steps are the same with the SOCKS part etc))
Step 3. SimpleX Server Setup: mention that in theory it doesnt matter where you connect since there is end to end encryption wherever you connect, and you are connecting to the servers through tor, to prevent them from knowing it was you that connected there.
Step 4: Configure SimpleX To Use Your Servers >> instead of using hackliberty pls use our servers as they are listed here https://nowhere.moe/simplex.html
How to Create Chatrooms in Incognito >> How to Create Chatrooms in Incognito mode
for the screenshots below crop them to their essential parts as there are a few screenshots with literally half of the screenshot being pure white with nothing in it
and lastly showcase 3 users talking to each other in the chatroom " Hi alice / bob / charlie / dave"
good progress yeah
just need to finish it. (see my inputs above)
Orbot setup: >> mention how to enable power user mode, we're not looking for full device VPN here. (you can reuse the screenshot in the tutorial on anonymous protests ../anonprotest/1.jpeg, 4.jpeg, 2.jpeg, 3.jpeg)
lastly showcase 3 users (that are alice / bob / charlie / dave) talking to each other in the chatroom but it shows that they all have different random pseudonyms as given by simplex (you can create the 4 simplex accounts yourself too, but no need to show them all, just one)
ok, i'll finish it myself, payment sent.
