either do it by the clock itself : start at 8:00, and then work up until 8:25, by then you know it's time to rest. Then work up until 8:55, then rest again, etc.

during the 5 minutes rest: do it like so:

This is to be done when your brain is getting overworked (approx at 25 minutes of working non stop), intentionally stop yourself, close your eyes and do the following:

1)Control the breath:

  • deep breaths (as deep as possible)
  • silent breaths, make sure it's not making any sound
  • slow breaths, make sure it's intentionnally slowed down
  1. Control the mind (using the nihilism mantras)
  • "I want nothing, I need nothing"
  • "I know nothing, I know nothing else"
  • "I am nothing, I am noone"
(each first half of the sentence needs to span the entire inhalation (even if slowed down), and the second half needs to span the entire exhalation (slowed down too))

you can repeat the mantras once or twice, should be enough to reset and rest your mind for those 5 minutes
